Greece - Day 4

Day 4

Today I woke up early as usual, why waste time when you're in another country!?  So, me and two of my friends went out into the city pretty early for the last day in Greece!!  We headed to the metro station since nothing exciting is in the port city... and we decided why not go to Athens one more time!?  So we went to Athens and went to the Archeological Museum of Athens which was really neat, with so many statues, carvings and artifacts found from ancient greek times.. and it was only 1Euro to get in, so it was a good deal, and really nice because it was air-conditioned!! The last day in Greece was the hottest yet, I think it got up to the mid 90's, but I'm not sure because they tell the temperature in Celcius!

 

After spending a little over an hour in the museum, we decided to take a train-trolley type vehicle that you pay 3 euro and it just drives around athens and you can get on/get off anytime you want.. which was really cool.. it was this miniature blue and white train and it was nice being able to sit down while going through the city, especially with the heat!!  We rode on that for awhile and then stopped to get off and walk around and shop for the last time in Athens!!  We spent the next 2 hours doing just so, and then sadly had to start heading back toward the port so we could make it back with enough time before "dock time" at 6pm.

 

We got back onto the boat around 4 and relaxed and then went to dinner, while we heard many announcements for passengers not on board and such.. there were more than 50 people who were late for on ship time so they got dock time, which means for every 15 minutes you are late past on ship time, you have 3 hours of "dock time" which just means you have to spend that time on the ship before you can get off in the next country!  But, we were safely back on board and winding down from a crazy 4 days!!!  And i was just happy to be on the ship and able to shower and cool down from the blistering heat that day!! I can't complain though, because it was great!!

 

Now, it's on to class day 12, and then Istanbu, Turkey.. my 5th country and 3rd continent since I will go to the Asiatic side of the city.. Istanbul is the only city in the world situated on 2 continents, and for one of my SAS trips I am going to the Asiatic side!!!!
